(The North Sea/2009) More than 970 kilometres long, 580 kilometres wide and covering an area of around 750,000 square kilometres, the North Sea is the longest international border as well as home to two of the most important human resources ? food and energy. The backdrop for this documentary series is, of course, the sea itself but the dramatic narrative is driven by the people whose lives are affected by it on a daily basis ? the commercial fishermen, the oil riggers, the marine engineers, the harbour masters and the sea rescue services.
