Having left the city far behind, Anna and her team have taken to zoo life lock, stock and barrel. Now that the zoo is on its feet, they are able to concentrate on the key roles for any modern zoo. That means, playing their part in the European breeding programmes for endangered species. It also means the zoo can focus more on education and conservation, especially of the native wildlife of West Wales. Their first step is to convert the American bison paddock into an African plains exhibit for endangered species, like the highly endangered Scimitar horned oryx. This means having to move two of the most dangerous animals in the zoo world, which is no mean feat.

(Hope For Wildlife/2009) Mother Nature can be cruel enough - and when man and nature collide, wildlife is usually the loser. This series follows the amazing work of Hope For Wildlife Society, which looks after injured and orphaned wildlife in the Canadian wilderness - rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing thousands of animals each year. The founder of the Society, Hope Swinimer, her staff and volunteers want to right what?s gone wrong in the wild. They?re overworked, under-funded and up to their eyeballs in baby raccoons injured raptors and orphaned deer. As winter thaws, orphaned baby animals begin trickling into the rehab. By spring, it?s filled to capacity. And the rehab is fighting for survival, too. Hope scrambles to raise money as government support dwindles. In the face of it all, Hope is driven by her compassion and belief that every animal matters. An injured pigeon receives the same care as a wounded bald eagle. Not every animal can be saved. Tough choices must be made. There isn?t always a happy ending, but there is always Hope.

(Egret - The Dramas of Life and Death/2011) Every year from late March to early April, large migrating flocks of egrets and herons arrive in North East China from Japan to nest, mate and rear their young. This film is an in-depth lifecycle study of one group of these spectacular birds. Over the course of about 10 days, they settle into the canopy of a mountain forest, remaining there until autumn. More than one thousand egrets and herons become neighbours in this high-rise bird colony. The conditions are jam-packed and rival birds of both species cohabit in the trees but fight over the available nesting space while also trying to evade predators.

(Oceans of Contrast/2011) The southern part of the African Continent is a dramatic landscape with two different currents, the cold Benguela on the west and south and the warm Agulhas on the east. These contrasting oceans create one of the most diverse marine environments on Earth. The cold and rich marine realm of the west creates a lush and abundant landscape in the oceans, but an unforgiving dry world on land. Seals, African penguin, Cape gannets and the Southern Right whales find refuge here to breed. On the east, warm current flows south from the Mozambique Channel. The sea is a semitropical paradise with coral reefs, tiger sharks, turtles and brightly coloured fish, and on land there are rivers and semitropical forests with mangroves. Unique underwater and aerial cinematography will creates a tribute to the marine heritage of southern Africa.

heart of the Pantanal, a wetland the size of Britain, Nigel comes face to face with these magnificent
