Gedge will face countless obstacles as he attempts to construct a structure to house tropical trees, plants, animals and insects. Not only will he be faced with the logistical and planning challenges of completing the structure on top of a major public building, but he?s also working to an extremely tight schedule as the rainforest must be complete in time for WWF?s Earth Hour.

Jaguar Adventure

pe 26.09.2014 08.00 - 08.55 55 minViasat Nature

(Jaguar Adventure/2008) Nigel Marven?s on the hunt for the world?s largest jaguars in South America. Travelling deep into the
heart of the Pantanal, a wetland the size of Britain, Nigel comes face to face with these magnificent
cats and chases down scientists who are rushing to save them on Brazil?s burgeoning cattle ranches.
Nigel?s time is short, he?s just four weeks in the world?s biggest wetland to find his jaguars and as
many of the amazing weird swamp creatures that he can. He hopes he?s timed his trip just right to coincide with the end of the dry season, ahead of the forthcoming rains. The animals should now be concentrated around the drying pools, making wildlife spotting a great deal more realistic. As the waters recede Nigel finds a host of characters at the most trying time of their lives.
Patrolling the banks of one of the remaining rivers, the Cuiaba, Nigel and a crack team of jaguar
spotters spend days searching for their quarry. He camps beside the river putting in long nights
as well as days to find a cat known to be illusive. His diligence pays off with some of the most
amazing jaguar encounters ever filmed. Many crews leave the Pantanal without filming a whisker
but Nigel manages to follow one cat all afternoon!.

Wild Animal E.R.

pe 26.09.2014 09.50 - 10.15 25 minViasat Nature

(Wild Animal E.R./2008) This documentary series gives an insight into what goes on behind the scenes at Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital. Based in the South-East of Britain, Tiggywinkles is the biggest of its kind in the world. It is also unique, in that it specialises in rehabilitating Britain's indigenous wildlife.
Although now there are around 10,000 animal casualties admitted each year, and a team of over 40 staff and volunteers on hand, Tiggywinkles has sprouted from humble beginnings. The wildlife hospital started life operating out of a small garden shed, but it now serves as the hub of wild-animal care in the UK. The hospital has a policy to never turn any ailing creature away. Its ultimate goal is to nurse all injured animals back to health before releasing them into the wild. "Every animal that comes through the doors of Tiggywinkles is dying," says co-founder Les Stocker, "and it's our mission to give these incredible creatures a second chance at life."
Filmed day and night over a series of weeks, Wild Animal ER follows dedicated vets and volunteers as they tend to the full spectrum of Britain's wildlife.

Despite its beauty, this ecosystem has never yet been explored and documented ? and for very good reason - it is home to one of the highest concentrations of big Nile crocodiles and hippopotami in the world. In this documentary, we can finally see how these two animals vie for the title of the most dangerous creatures in Africa - through the lens of highly experienced cameraman Brad Bestelink. See predatory tigerfish as they cruise the open waters in large shoals while brightly coloured bream and catfish stick close to the bottom, ever alert to the threat of the crocodiles. The papyrus caves are also full of strange and exotic creatures, while the plant life sways to the rhythm of the cold water currents.

But when a string of murders involving more than Sicily's mighty water suppliers begins to terrorize the residents of Palermo, the heat is on for the cops to catch the culprits. The man in charge is Angelo Caronia, a talented but arrogant cop who's been sent back to his native Palermo after years on the force in Rome. His mission is to wipe up the mess of water and blood spilled by the Mafia. Going back to his old haunts is tough and he immediately butts heads with his new team members, whom he feels are lazy and unmotivated. Yet day after day, Angelo learns to love Palermo and to appreciate the openness and generosity of his colleagues. They, in turn, are conquered by the ingenuity and brilliance of their chief who restores their pride in being cops. The main problem is how to tackle the Mafia ? a nearly suicidal mission...
