(Out of the Ashes/2011) On the 7th of February 2009, bushfires tore through Victoria. They killed 173 people; destroyed over 2,000 homes and incinerated swathes of prime forest and its wildlife. Fires, though, are a natural process and these mountain forests need fire to regenerate. Severe bushfires occur in Australia at least every 70 years and a mountain ash forest can take up to two hundred years to recover. Yet, even in the face of overwhelming devastation, plants and animals have an uncanny knack of bouncing back, and the environment an extraordinary capacity for healing.

Out Of The Ashes examines the drought leading up to the fires, the ensuing fires and the ecological recovery over the next 12 months through the first hand experiences of people who were involved. Scientists, rangers, animal care workers and people who escaped the fires describe their experiences.

(Hope For Wildlife/2010) Second in the series following the amazing work of wildlife animal rescue society Hope Swinimer?s ?Hope For Wildlife?, rescuing thousands of animals on Canada?s east coast each year. This time round Hope and her tireless team are taking their mission of mercy from the wilderness to the city, learning to deal with stray pets, find homes for abandoned animals and navigate the political jungle of animal control. At the same time, they must continue the enormous task of rehabilitating more than a thousand wild animals each year.

In this season Hope goes on the road to further develop her knowledge of wildlife rehabilitation. She visits a variety of wildlife rehab facilities across Canada to learn about different species and new rehab procedures. Of course Doctor Barry, Allison, Tiffany and a host of volunteers are also on hand to look after all the injured and orphaned animals that desperately need help.

Feeling like an outsider at his brother's funeral, Stephen escapes to Michael's apartment. Nadir, the ill woman dies, leaving Stephen and Yasim overwhelmed with grief at their losses. The two find comfort with each other and sleep together.

The next morning, Stephen is summoned to a meeting at the Inquirendo company to learn about their new Total Information Awareness (TIA) system. TIA is described as a super database that brings together all records on individuals and allows the government unlimited access to personal data. The company offers to fund Stephen's research in exchange for him becoming the public face of TIA, but Stephen declines.

Stephen races back to the apartment to see Yasim, but she and Nadir have vanished. Instead, old flame and now government minister Eleanor Brooke turns up, explains her involvement in TIA, and asks for Stephen's help. Realizing TIA's potential for his own purposes, Stephen agrees to help.
